Compared to the Honda Nighthawk 250's we had to ride at the VA MSF course, the Savage is heaven! I guess it just depends on what you want in a bike, but on a 250 (yamaha, honda,...) I don't feel that I can negotiate in traffic with confidence. The 650 has enough power to get up and go, and handles wonderfully. Give it some thought, ask questions, and shop around some before you make a final decision. Who knows, maybe a 250 will be right for you!
